Do I need to attend all events of the day? Do I need to stay all night for the Reception?

Accepted Answer

You are not required to attend all events. We highly request your presence for the ceremony and reception, at least until dinner is served. You are more than welcome to stay the whole duration of the day and join in the festivities. We hope you enjoy the elements of both of our cultures throughout the day!

What is the dress code? Do I need more than one outfit?

Accepted Answer

For the morning ceremony, the dress code is formal indian, western or cultural (from your culture!) clothing. Please DO NOT wear white OR black as they are inauspicious colors in the hindu faith.

For the evening, please wear black-tie/evening wear Indian, Western or Cultural clothing. Cocktail dresses/suits are completely fine, too. Please do not wear white during the evening.

You are welcome to stay in the same clothes all day or wear a secondary outfit for the evening.

Why is there such a large block of time between events? What do I do between the morning ceremony and evening reception/cocktail hour?

Accepted Answer

For most South Asian weddings, a large gap of time between the ceremony and reception is normal since the decorators need time to set up the reception room.

We highly recommend booking a hotel room for the evening of (and having an early check in) especially if you have young kids or are elderly. The gap gives you some time to relax and freshen up. Feel free to explore the area for coffee shops or visiting malls in the area. Don't wander too far or nap too long! Please be mindful of the upcoming evening events of that day.

Can I bring additional guests?

While we would love to host everyone in your family, we have a cap on the number of guests we may invite. Please refer to your invitation to see who is part of your group. We have assigned plus ones and specific invites to include family members. If you do not have any listed, please include your desired plus one in the prompt in the RSVPify invite. We will try our best to accommodate if we have the space to.
